Baseldeutsch

Baseldeutsch is spoken, rarely written, and almost never taught, leaving newcomers to Basel with little material to learn it. My Bachelor Thesis addresses that gap with an app that teaches Baseldeutsch playfully, aimed at people who already speak Standard German, especially those with a migration background. Its core idea is transformation: a typography animation shows how "Nebel" becomes "Nääbel," making the dialect's sound shift visible and audible, while a city map, lexicon, and practice mode turn language and culture into a possible step toward belonging.

Marbelous Maze

Our main idea is to make a board game digitally interactive with the help of the AprilTag Library. The board game is based on Marble Maze, in which two players must collaborate to prevent the marbles from falling out of the maze. The maze is also customizable by rearranging its sections. In the digital version, the marbles interact with an alphabet grid. If interested, the whole documentation of the project can be found here.

Digitalizing Lange Erlen

In this project, the goal was to digitalize the animal park Lange Erlen by developing a mobile app. The app functions as a digital lexicon, allowing visitors to collect and explore information about the animals within the park, creating an interactive and educational experience. In addition to the app development, the project also included a visual redesign, giving the animal park a modern look.

Real/Fake

This project explores the relevance of image and video manipulation on social media, specifically focusing on beauty filters in apps. Through a series of posters, the project aims to raise awareness of how seamlessly such manipulations can alter perceptions in our digital world.

Project Westfeld

Together, we brought the Westfeld Schiff building to life. We aimed to showcase the two sides of Westfeld Schiff: the old exterior architecture and the newly renovated interior. In our film, we animated the building's most recognizable characteristics.
